This research area is based on studying flora biodiversity from island and micro-island (islands and islets) environments, mainly in the Balearic Islands. We work on studies into reproductive biology, particularly endemic, restricted distribution and/or threatened species, as well as undertaking population monitoring and distribution modelling. Moreover, we analyse different impacts, including the effect of herbivorous mammals introduced to islands, the impact of changes in land uses on biodiversity and pollination, and the chorology and expansion of exotic and invasive flora. . In this way, we contribute to knowledge about the biology of species, detect threats and understand the weaknesses in the regeneration cycles for populations that will enable us to contribute to improving management strategies. We also focus on different pollination systems, such as deception strategies, and ecological factors crucial to successful reproduction. We also work on plant use, medicinal flora, dyes, fibres, wild edible plants and different aspects linked to ethnobotany.
